What does our insurance cover?

• Accidents: Sudden, unexpected events leading to permanent disability or death. Think of acute poisoning, drowning, suffocation, and more.
• Medical costs after an accident: Up to €5,000.00 for necessary medical treatments, including hospitalization costs. This also includes the costs of provisional and first definitive prostheses, and necessary transportation costs for medical treatments.
• Repatriation and travel costs: Reimbursement of costs up to €1,500.00 for repatriation to Belgium and travel costs of close relatives, so you always receive the care and support you need, wherever you are.

Obligations and conditions

• Notification obligation: It is important to inform us as soon as possible of an accident, so we can assist you quickly. Report an accident no later than 3 days and in case of death within 48 hours.
• Medical expertise: In the event of disability, it may be necessary to undergo a medical examination to determine the extent. This helps us determine a fair and accurate payout.
• Premiums: The insurance takes effect after payment of the first premium. In case of non-payment, coverage may be suspended or the contract terminated.

Indumar water sports insurance “accidents of those on board” is a product offered by insurance company SMA SA. This insurance pays for damage caused by accidents of those on board.

• Coverage for an accident while on board, embarking or disembarking, refueling or making emergency repairs to the vessel, unless it is a professional company

Legal information and complaints management

The insurance contract is governed by Belgian law.

Origin of the product developer: product offered by SMA SA, Rue Louis Armand 8, 75015 Paris, France.

Location where you can get a quote together with a calculation of the premium: Indumar Insurance NV, Schoonzichtstraat 27, 9051 Ghent.

The term of the product is one year. After the end date, your policy will be tacitly renewed for one year at a time, unless you (notice period of 2 months) or we (notice period of 3 months) cancel the policy by registered mail, by bailiff's writ or by delivery of the termination letter against receipt, subject to compliance with the aforementioned notice period.
If you are a consumer, you can terminate the tacitly renewable contracts without any costs or penalties after the expiry of a period of one year from the start of the insurance contract. The termination shall take effect after the expiry of a period of two months.

If you disagree with the outcome of the complaint handling, you can submit a complaint to the VZW Insurance Ombudsman, square de Meeûs 35, 1000 Brussels Tel No: 02/ 547 58 71; Fax No: 02/ 547 59 75; info@ombudsman-insurance.be ; www.ombudsman-insurance.be. Complaints must be submitted in writing. Submitting a complaint does not affect the policyholder's right to take legal action.
